So You Think You Want To Be A Counsellor?

This informative workshop introduces you to the field of counselling training. The workshop will give you:

  • Information about professional bodies, particularly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, accreditation and government regulation
  • Information about training including: the difference between using counselling skills and being a counsellor; what to look for in training courses and the different types and levels of training available; what counselling courses look for in candidates for training; and what counselling courses typically cover
  • Preparation for the commitment involved in undertaking training and what will be expected of you
  • A taste of what training is like through some activities which focus on thinking about what makes a good listener and what makes us want to be a listening helper, the relevance of personal development in training and what can help us take the risks we need to in order to develop as a listening helper
Dates for the above event to be announced shortly
