All our courses are carefully designed to offer:

TASTER MODULES

These modules form part of the Foundations of Counselling course, but each may be taken as a stand-alone taster.

Developing Personal Awareness (8 weeks)

We introduce you to the importance of personal growth and self-awareness when using counselling skills. A variety of methods helps you develop reflective skills and self understanding.

Counselling Skills and Theory (8 weeks)

We introduce a framework to identify and understand counselling principles, specific skills and how they fit together. Practice in small groups builds confidence in your skills development.

Common Personal Problems (8 weeks)

You explore typical issues that lead people to seek help, and the different implications, methods and resources available when supporting them in a listening helper role.

COURSES

Foundations of Counselling
One year, part time. Tuesdays 1pm - 5.30pm

This one year part-time course is a thorough introduction to counselling: inc. skills, theory and personal development, as well as an academic foundation.

The course is intended both for those wishing to develop and enhance their 'people' roles and also for those intending to pursue counsellor training (provides the entry requirement for our counsellor qualifying training course).

Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Counsellor Qualification written to meet BACP standards)
Three years, part-time, Wednesdays 1pm - 5.30pm

This course is designed to meet BACP's requirements of counsellor training, enabling well-prepared graduates to enter the profession. The course includes the necessary theory, personal and skills development opportunities, preparation for placement and employment, as well as developing academic skills to a high standard.
